Azure Ray w/ Tim Fite, James Husband and Bethesda at Grog Shop
Tuesday, November 9th
Azure Ray are touring in support of their first album in almost seven years, Drawing Down The Moon. Azure Ray is Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink, who met when they were teenagers at an art school in Alabama, and are back playing together after a four-year hiatus. They've released albums on Omaha imprint Saddle Creek Records since 2003, and while Azure Ray was on hiatus, Fink and Taylor continued to record with various label mates, including Now It's Overhead and Art in Manila. The new album features Azure Ray's trademark folk-inspired melancholy choruses infused with dreamy electronica, along with more complex instrumentation that complements the duo's ethereal vocals with harps and orchestral arrangements. Local folk artisans of indie beats and emotional lyrics, Bethesda, will start the evening.
