Decanting: seeing red in a new light

In this episode of At Cellar Door, Frantz explains the finer points of decanting: why to do it, when to do it, how to do it and more. She uses a 1996 Chateau Belgrave from the Haut-Médoc to illustrate the importance of decanting, explaining how to know whether a wine has been cellared properly and how to store your wine, because there's no sense in crying over spoiled Bordeaux.

Since 2002, Marianne Frantz has been guiding wine enthusiasts as the founder of the American Wine School. Frantz is a member of the Society of Wine Educators and a Certified Wine Educator. She also holds a diploma in wine and spirits from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and is a candidate for the Master of Wine. At Cellar Door in Beachwood, Ohio, Frantz runs American Wine School's tasting room, classroom and retail shop.
