Each year, inspired by his family's traditions, chef Doug Katz, owner of fire food & drink in Shaker Heights, assembles a team to make pickles. With locally sourced cucumbers, dill, garlic and peppers, Katz and his team bottle more than 600 jars each season. There are up to eight pickles in each jar, adding to nearly 600 pounds of pickles. The ever-popular Katz' pickles are a menu favorite, enjoyed alone, in dirty martinis and as a side to the signature fire hamburger.
