Sketchbook Cleveland is a twice-monthly feature by South Euclid writer and illustrator Karen Sandstrom. With sketchbook in hand, Sandstrom scouts Northeast Ohio to find its celebrated and hidden treasures, documenting them in her inimitable style.
In this sketch, Sandstrom captures the easiest of mornings: Sunday. She does so at nationally recognized, locally loved eatery Lucky's Café. There, owner Heather Haviland's colorful character translates to generous plates, brimming with fresh Ohio flavors and a liberal helping of comfort. For that reason, each Sunday brings a packed house, with happy visitors from Tremont to Ontario.
