One of our favorite Easter traditions is candy - fanciful, delicious, sweet and nostalgic. In Tremont, Amanda and Josh Montague of Lilly Handmade Chocolates carefully craft hundreds of Monster Eggs, the oversized chocolate delights with flavors that are all grown up. This year, three flavors made the grade: The Salty Bunny (salted caramel ganache in a milk chocolate shell), Holy Cannoli (pistachios, orange zest, mascarpone and white chocolate mousse, cocoa nibs and a dark chocolate shell) and Cocoa Cottontail Crunch (cocoa nibs, amoretti cookies, feuilletine, black lava salt and a dark chocolate shell).
If you can't get some Lilly goodness by the time the Easter bunny hops through town, check out the newly expanded Lilly, with additional retail space and seating. Spring flavors are also now available, including the Fresh Squeezed: fresh lemon ganache and raspberry puree in white chocolate. Now that's something to get hoppy about.
