The Cain Park Arts Festival is one of the best in the US.

On July 8-10, 150 exhibitors will unpack their wares at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights for an event Sunshine Artist magazine has ranked among the 25 best festivals in the country.

The Cain Park Arts Festival will feature paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, pottery, glass, jewelry, textiles and more from juried artists selected by festival director George Kozmon, festival coordinator Honey Feinberg and a panel of art professionals. Participants include favorites and award-winners from previous years as well as first-time presenters.

Festival goers can enjoy a variety of gourmet concessions provided by area restaurants and caterers. Live entertainment will be available all weekend, featuring the Alma Family Concerts on Saturday and Sunday. Performers scheduled to appear include Kindermusik of Cleveland; magicians Billy Matsumoto and Rick Smith Jr.; and Hal Walker, the Ohio Arts Council's contemporary "pied piper."

On Saturday in the Evans Amphitheater, The Girls Band will perform rock, pop, R&B and country; The Lenny Russo band serves up swing and Dixieland jazz; and The Lost State of Franklin performs everything from jazz and country to Beat poetry, bluegrass and rock. Closing out the night will be Grammy Award winner Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience. During the past 25 years Simien has performed more than 5,000 concerts in 40 countries. He has shared the studio and stage with Robert Palmer, Stevie Wonder, Los Lobos, Keith Richards, Art Neville, the Meters, Allen Toussaint, Paul Simon and Dave Matthews Band.

Festival hours are Friday, July 8 from 3-8 p.m., Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, July 10 from noon-5 p.m. Friday admission is free; Saturday and Sunday admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. A free parking shuttle will be available on Saturday and Sunday during festival hours. Pick-up and drop-off will be at Cleveland Heights City Hall, located at 40 Severance Circle in Severance Town Center. Cain Park is located at Lee and Superior roads in Cleveland Heights.
